Info for New Renters

Welcome to Professional Photo Resources, the South’s premier photo and lighting specialists. We rent a wide variety of photo, lighting, and grip equipment for every need. Before you rent, here are the answers to a few questions you might have.

We can accept new registrations on a walk-in basis. However, depending on our work load, it may take up to an hour to process a new registration. Submitting your application in advance is preferable, and will expedite the process.

Before you can make a reservation, you’ll need to fill out a Rental Registration form, which can be accessed by clicking here. Please fill out the form and fax it to 404-885-9706. Or, you can scan document into a PDF format, and email it to rental@ppratlanta.com. Ideally, we’d like to have it at least a day in advance of your rental, especially for large orders, but we can expedite it if need be.

We require a deposit on all rental equipment. The deposits, as well as the rental pricing, are listed on our equipment rental page of our web site. The deposit can be left in one of three forms:

  • A credit card preauthorization. This puts a credit hold equal to the deposit on your credit card. Please note, this can only be done with a credit card, not a check or debit card, due to banking regulations. If you choose this method, please check with your bank in advance to make sure you have available credit for this. Your bank will release the credit hold, not PPR after the merchandise is returned. Please check with your bank to see how they handle this, your credit could be tied up for a full billing cycle, depending on your credit provider.

  • A local check. You simply write us a check for the amount of the deposit. We hold the check until you return the merchandise. This is by far the easiest method, and the method used by the majority of our customers. Please note, the check must be in the name of the person whose name is on the registration. We cannot accept "counter" or "starter" checks for either deposits or to pay for rentals.

  • A Certificate of Insurance. This is a policy issued by your insurance company insuring PPR against loss or damage to our rental equipment. You’ll have to contact your insurance carrier to see if they offer this service. If you have business insurance, you should have no problem getting this, it’s usually not offered with either homeowner’s or renter’s insurance. Click here for a PDF sample of a certificate of insurance.

Our rentals are for a 24-hour period. If you keep merchandise longer, you may incur additional charges. We do offer a special weekend rate, which is 1.5 times the daily rate, for rentals starting after 4pm Friday and returned by 10am the following Monday. We also offer weekly rentals, at four times the daily rate. All other rentals are on a full day basis.

Hopefully this answers many of the questions you may have, if you have any others please feel free to call.
